Brooks Interiors - Providing quality remanufactured modular office furniture for 15 years

BROOKS Interiors began in a small warehouse in Melrose, Massachusetts in 1989 with a plan to become the leading office system remanufacturer in New England. BROOKS Interiors’ founder and president, Denny Engstrom, believed that if BROOKS Interiors always provided its Clients with quality remanufactured products BROOKS Interiors would succeed. Together with his son Bill Engstrom, they hired a staff of craftsmen that understood the company's main goals . . . quality and customer satisfaction.

Fifteen years later, they continue to be successful.

In the '90s, many larger corporations started to downsize, reorganize, and merge. New, smaller micro-corporations were springing up everywhere. But unlike the carefree spending days of the '80s, money now needed to go further. These new companies were no longer willing to pay "retail" for their office furniture needs. In addition, many companies that had to liquidate relatively new furniture.

Excess Inventory of Cubicle Panel Systems with Downsized Companies

With downsizing and reorganization, many companies had an excess inventory of cubicle panel systems and office furniture, others had a need for their merged office systems to look homogeneous. BROOKS Interiors quickly capitalized on this phenomenon and began buying quality, brand-name used office cubicle systems and modular office furniture and making it available to other new companies.

Quality is Brooks Interiors’ Cornerstone

BROOKS Interiors quickly outgrew its Melrose warehouse and relocated to a larger warehouse just outside Boston in Everett, Massachusetts. The client list and skilled staff continued to grow. BROOKS Interiors' reputation for quality was becoming well known.

Little Difference in Old and New Cubicle after Remanufacturing

The staff's remanufacturing techniques improved to the point that it soon became difficult for Clients to differentiate between new and remanufactured cubicle systems. As a matter of fact, an insurance executive mistook the display cubicle at BROOKS Interiors' showroom for new panels and furniture. He wasn't convinced that it was a remanufactured system until Bill Engstrom pried off a panel top cap to expose the original label with a date of manufacture: 1983.

Success again forced BROOKS Interiors to look for larger accommodations. With an expanding Client base, larger orders, and an inventory of over 6,000 cubicle panels, it was necessary to find a larger, more central location.

Brooks Interiors Satisfied Clients = More Growth in Modular Office Furniture

BROOKS Interiors relocated to Wilmington, Massachusetts in 1995, convenient to the junction of routes 93 and 95 (Rte. 128). From this new location, deliveries are easily made to any Client, whether they're located in Boston, Providence, Portland, Hartford or any other city – even New York and Albany. The warehouse, remanufacturing facility, showroom, and office complex has all the space the company needs, plus room for expansion as BROOKS Interiors to grow into the new millennium.
